Recommend a fan to go with Prolimatech Mega for sandy bridge
Building a sandy bridge system and wanted the community's thoughts on a cpu fan to go with an overclockable (core i5 2500k) sandy bridge gaming pc. Specs are here:

Was thinking about scythe slipstream 120mm pwm + vr fan but it is $19.99 and there is some concern about the low static pressure not being able to push enough through the tiny fins of the cooler. Thoughts???

Don't worry at all.
However, the V.R. version would seem pointless, at first sight: either a SY1225SL12LM-P or a SA1225FDB12H-P should be fine, or if in case a SY1225SL12HPVC.

Thanks for the feedback. I went with SY1225SL12LM-P after realizing I could still control the pwm fan via mb. These things aren't cheap. Paid about $85 shipped for two of these pwm fans (~$10 x2), one scythe mugen 2 rev b (~$40), and another scythe slipstream 120mm 800rpm (~$10) + shipping $15!
Re: Recommend a fan to go with Prolimatech Mega for sandy br
Im down the same road just assembled my sandy system with megahalem, still dont know what fan config I want to use for best cooling/silence any advice is welcome.
Just mounted the SY1225SL12LM-P and its really nice actually starts around 500/600RPM and only ramps up till 800 while stress testing so I might just go with this (just cant make up my mind if I want a pwm fan or not:p)... and maybi a low rpm noctua for exhaust?
any advice is welcome trying to cool a I5 2500k with prolima megahalems , at the moment SY1225SL12LM-P & Noctua sb12 ULN as exhaust with ULNA adapters seemed a good pick?
So either a PWM fan or maybi another with a fancontroller I dont know

If you connect to a standard 3-pin header you should be able to start it around 300rpm.

I prefer any Slipstream or S-Flex over the Noctua's noise "quality".

You might consider a Prolimatech Megahalem (or Megashadow) fan... it seems like it would fit your you systems and would cool your specs just fine. Check out the one I put in my latest build: Gaming PC

Just bought this combo and I'm going to try this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835185148. I'll try to remember to let you know how it works out.
