Hi!
I stumbled across a company I've never heard of before, http://www.microcool.it/, that has a Northbridge cooler that seems pretty good. It's called Northpole and is all copper. It weighs in at 195 g (including the fan I think). I'm wondering how it compares to for example the Zalman nb32j. If you pull off the (presumably) noisy 8200 RPM fan, it might be good as a passive northbridge cooler.
I've seen reviews on http://www.systemcooling.com and http://www.meetthegeeks.org/ourreview/2003/northpole/ ,but they don't test it without the fan.
My asus P4C800 motherboard came equipped with passive northbrdige cooling, but I'm a bit worried that it's running too hot. Although bigger than most other northbrdige heatsinks, it's quite hot when you are touching it.
So, has anyone tried this product before without the fan?
Has anyone tested Microcool Northpole

I just read a review on that unit today. It seems to work very well!
On an OC'd AMD system, it took a NB chip from 51C to 37C! The fan is supposed to be much quieter than one would think from looking at the specs.
The small sink included in the kit also worked well in cooling the MOSFET chips of the test board from 64C idle/75C load to 55C idle/67C load.
