Mini Ninja on AM3

Post by doveman » Mon Nov 07, 2011 10:25 am

Does anyone know if the Mini Ninja will fit on an AM3 board and if so, whether it will be front-back orientation on my Biostar TA790GXBE? http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/int ... p?S_ID=419

I was using on a Gigabyte GA-MA785GPMT-UD2H, front-back orientation with the original fan. Temperatures wasn't too great, but neither the case(Compaq Deskpro). IMO, if you have a 65W TDP processor and a good airflow case, you can go fanless.

Thanks, that's really helpful.

I'm going to use either a 65W or 45W Athlon II X2 (or possibly a 95W Athlon II X4) in a fairly-well ventilated case. I don't think I'd ever try and run a CPU heatsink fanless though. Not saying it can't be done, just doesn't seem worth the hassle/risk when it's easy enough to stick a v.quiet fan on there.
