Nofan fanless CPU heatsink

That's a big fanless heatsink - but not much surface area - cooling an i5-2500K
That cooler does more than only eliminate noise. The Core i5-2500K idled at 36°C, and under full load from our benchmarks rose to a comfortable 75°C. That’s nowhere near its thermal limit, and lower than we see from many actively cooled processors.

Interesting! Takes up a lot of volume though, but with a few good case fans will probably work well. Wish those wires were all heatpipes!

looks like a lot of surface area to me...

would love for SPCR to get their hands on that for some real testing!

Looking at the size of the thing I can't help but feel that similar performance with negligible noise could be managed by installing an open framed axial fan in the centre of the cooler. It would then work something like an oldschool Zalman flower cooler. I'm sure that spinning such a fan at only 300rpm would make less noise then the buzzing components elsewhere in the system. Fully passive misses the point if you still have component buzz to put up with.
