Is the Corsair H60/H55 really more quiet than Noctua NH-L12?

Hi, I'm fed up with my stock intel cooler for my 3570K, so now is the time to go silent. I was looking at the new Corsair H55 which seems like a good solution because I move my case a bit, and I'm not conformtable with these huge 1kg coolers. I also like to have room in my case, so it seems like a perfect fit. However, while it might be "quietish", it's not really quiet according to some customer reviews. So I went to SPCR and stumbled across the Noctua NH-L12 which I thought might be a good compromise between size and noise/cooling ability. But according to frostytech the H60 performed better in their review than the NH-L12, both more silent and better at cooling. Am I missing something here? If the results really are correct, then don't you guys think a H55 with a silent PWM fan would be a really good pick?

Code: Select all

                                         150w 85W db
Corsair Hydro H60 low 26.6 15.9 31.9
Noctua NH-L12 (bot fan only) low 32.9 19.4 33.1
Noise for the H55 is better than the new H60 according to Anandtech and Hardocp as can be seen below, so I even expect to get better results than frostytech's results.
