is Nofan discontinuing the cr-95?

is Nofan discontinuing the cr-95?

they used to sell for $100

on amazon they are selling from 1 retailer for $500

on reddit someone said nofan cr-95 does NOT support am4

newegg is no longer carrying nofan

the cr-80 is still sold at amazon for a more reasonable $50

not clear if it supports AM4 out of the box

can someone with nofan knowledge comment?

newegg is important for companies like nofan

is no fan going out of business?

is the nofan cr-80eh the best fanless heatsink for under $70?

i don't know if anyone cares but

nonfan and sileptc says the nonfan cr-95 is continued

so its being sold for $500+

so nofan only makes 1 model cooler

cr-80

not clear if it is am4 compatible

Always seemed like a pointless product to me, given that a D14 or D15/D15S without the fan(s) attached will do the same job. I have run both 2500k and 3770k fanless on a D14 for 3 years+ and I do stuff like folding@home, encoding, Plex Optimizations etc all fine.

That's with a fan in the box though. For true fanless the Nofan outperforms the "regular" coolers since it's designed to run without a fan. It was always a niche product and I was not really a fan (hehe) because of the price. Still, sad to see them gone.

Depends on your load, you probably not really loading your 3770k, NoFan95C will put to shame any tower (fanless), including the HR02/HE02, shown on by SPCR on its review, even on the Review of the HR22, the biggest tower i know, it loses to it (fanless). Again depends on the load you putting into the cpu, idle and mild loads the D14 should clear fansless, but i do agree, for your specific needs/load the NoFan95C is pointless.

What do you mean not loading it? all 4c/8t at 100% for 14 hours is not loading it? :P

I ran my 2500k system full fanless for 2 years. No exhaust fan, no intake fans, no cpu fan. GFX card has 0db fans, but when working they are still underneath the gfx card so not providing airflow to the CPU, and PSU has one again 0db but I run my PSU's with the fans facing the desk (as they should be, because PSU fans are intakes). CPU never went above 65c. Upgraded to 3770k and used an exhaust fan, never went above 75c.

Currently still not using a cpu fan... just an exhaust fan

IMO it is the amount of heatpipes that is important...taking that heat from the IHS and out into the heatsink. I think this is why Threadrippers are so cool, because their cores are spread out somewhat, allowing good coolers to dissipate the heat.

Lots of things makes an impact on performance. Heatpipes, yes. But also size, fin spacing etc. I have not seen any cooler perform better than the Nofan in a fanless system.

My ideal is really the simple, huge aluminium blocks with wide spacing like the Alpine 11. Cheap and simple. :)

But no one has actually reviewed a D14 or D15 with no fans.

I have actually used one.

Not only that I have used one in a case with no exhaust fan and no intake fans, or a variation.

3770k 4.2ghz 1.128v P95 10 mins small FFT ~76C with passive D14 and one exhaust fan.

That's not only lower voltage than other people are getting with 3770k's at the same clockspeed (they are getting around 1.22v according to overclock.net threads) but only 6C more than people are getting with fans on their heatsinks.

I wish someone would review a D14 or D15 with no fans.

Furthermore the CR95 is no longer made, is much larger, and twice the price.
