I have a Noctua NH-U12 on my LGA1155 i5-2500K.

I'm now looking to upgrade to a Ryzen 5 3600 system.

Is the NM-AM4 adaptor what I need, and is the cooler up to the job?

Thanks

Short answer is yes to both. Here's the compatibility page. You should be able to contact Noctua and get the adapter for free.

It'll perform fine, though I had to swap the included "F" series fan to an "A" series due to noise... the A is a huge improvement.
