Will an Asus A7N8X v2 Deluxe read a Panaflo's rpm sensor?
Are the Asus A7N8X v2 Deluxe motherboard fan pins capable of reading a Panaflo's rpm sensor with the appropriate 3 wire connector?
Specific fan is the Panaflo is the 80 mm Panaflo H-1BX (high with rpm sensing)?

Also works fine on my ABIT AN7. That makes one board from the same brand as your A7N8X and one board with the same chipset as your A7N8X (although AN7 uses uGuru for monitoring, so I dunno').

PS It never had a problem working on my P4 testbed, which uses a FIC-made, VIA-branded, VIA-chipset motherboard as well.

Do you know what the actual chips which do temperature and rpm monitoring on your Asus are?
Also, any idea how the 80 mm Panaflo L1A (10 - 12 V) would compare to the 80 mm Panaflo H1-BX at 5 - 7 V?

You know what's really funny? I actually had an A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 on me up until Friday afternoon; it was a spare K7 platform that I had on me, but I wasn't using it at all, so when my cousin's machine failed during this week, I decided to swap it in to his machine, with a new CPU that I had handy as well. His machine works fine now, but he already brought it home, so I can't test my M1B on it.

The chip is a asb100.
I have an Asus A7N8X non deluxe, it also has an ASB100 chip, I find the monitoring to be in general quite bad, it reports the 5volt line fluctuating a lot, down to almost below 4.75V when it actually stays quite stable at around 5.05V, and it reports "MB temperature" as significantly higher than CPU diode temp.
You can actually read the label on the chip in the pdf version of the manual if you zoom in enough (the manual refers to it as the 'ASUS ASIC' chip), the second line on the one on my board says TKV 273841 0245D, the one in the pdf says TKF 10115...? 0229, so maybe my board was just part of a really bad batch.

Yeah, I've gone through 2 Asus A7N8X-Deluxe Rev 2 boards, and am now waiting on my 3rd *sigh*. The monitoring on them is not very good when it comes to temps. Fan rpm seems to be OK for the fans that I use on it.
The list of know problems for this Asus board over on NForce HQ is just a joke. If I was choosing again, I would go for the MSI board.
