I know a 60mm fan can't be quiet but I'd like to get the best for a reasonable price. I'm not paying $13-14 for one of those SilentX. It needs to be thin, 10mm is preferable but I could probably squeeze in a 15mm one if need be. I've looked and can't find any of those JMC Panther ones anywhere.

Anyway, I've found two I'd like to ask for opinions on. This one at 3dcool and this one at Directron. The reason I chose those 2 is because I can also get the 40mm fan I need for my video card there and save on shipping. Probably either would be better than the 50mm Coolermaster(rated at 37db) on there right now.[/url]

i've never used one, but i'd probably give the sunon "maglev" fan a go (a whirl? :P <groan>). i doubt it could be any worse than a regular 60mm fan, and if it is, just RMA it based on the fact that they are marketing it as being "extremely quiet."

I am curious too, looking for some good 60mm fans (10 or 25mm thick doesnt matter) for exhaust of a small microatx case.

Anyone with any input??

I ordered from here: http://store.yahoo.com/coolbidnow/de60ulqucafa1.html
I'll get them some time this week, so I will let you know how they are. I'm not sure if the specs are right but the rpms were slower than other 60x10 fans I saw.

Does anyone here read the other posts or use the search function? There's a post right below this one who's title is something like "Are there any quiet 60mm fans" and if you use the search you'll see this question has been asked and answered doezens of times.

Sigh....

I guess I'll clarify.

If there are no quiet 60x25mm fans, why in the world would a thinner version of the same thing, that pushes less air, be quiet?

Actually this post is about thin 10mm fans. Not all of us have the luxury of space, and the other thread is about 60mm threads in general. I cannot fit a 60x25, and if you search for 60x10 in these forums, you will see how little there is. That said, it is true that people tend not to search the forums before posting, and we should all get better at that. Thanks again for unlocking this thread. When I get my fans, I would like to post my results.

And I would like to see the results; several HTPC cases on the market rely on 60mm fans.

First of all I did do a search both for the Evercool and the Sunon. I think I found one post about the 60mm Sunon(although not that particular model) and nothing about the Evercool. I always search before posting otherwise I'd also be asking about 40mm fans.

Secondly, I stated in my very first sentence that I knew a 60mm fan couldn't be quiet. I was just asking which of those 2 were the quietest.

Thirdly, I saw that other post about 60mm fans but I felt that my question was different enough to warrant another thread.
