7 volts in stead of 12

The hands on 12/5 switch could just as easily switch between 12 and 7 (where 7 is 12 as plus as 5 as ground) or between 7 and 5.
<BR>The switch is a DPST, so there's nothing that says you have to use the same ground for both circuits.
<BR>As to "why 7 volts?" - well sometimes 5 volts either has your fan running too slow, or the fan won't even start...

u could get a zalman fanmate and have a twiddle with your Voltages that way

Or you could use a 3 position switch and go 5,7, or 12.
I've played around with a 4 position rotary switch that I wired for OFF, 5v, 7v, and 12v.
