92x25 Fan Choices

I’m looking to replace the 92x25 fan on my Zalman CPU cooler, but I’m not sure what is a good choice. I’d like to find something that moves as much air at higher speeds yet doesn’t sound as whiney.

Zalman does not list how much air their fans move.

True but they do tell you the rpm is 2800, & the label tells you it's 3.36W. At 12V, this means a current draw of 0.28A. Just look for a fan with this current value along with fan size and rpm to get an idea of how much air it might move. The CFM figures are always approximations even when measured anyway...

My guesstimate: ~45 cfm at 12V.

Well I just tried replacing the Zalman fan with two 80 Vantec Stealth’s, I glued them together and wired them both into the same plug which is controlled by the Zalman speed control dingus. I have them cranked up full bore and the cpu is 1 degree cooler, but the stealth’s have an even worse noise.
Next try is to order 2 more Panaflo 80L’s and try it with that.

I hope you did not mean stacking one on top of another. This will cause much more noise with very little or no extra airflow.

The panaflo are quiet at low voltages, much much better than the Zalmans.
