Is this a quiet fan?
Just picked up a fan at a local computer store. The retail packaging is from a company called StarTech.com. The specs according to their web site:
Dimensions: 3.15 x 3.15 x 0.99inches(80x80x25mm)
Rated and Operating Voltage: 12V DC
Fan Speed: 2000 RPM
Air Flow: 26.62 CFM
Noise: < 27 dBA
The label on the fan reads:
Evercool
Low noise. Long life time
HEAT DISSIPATION SPECIALIST
EC8025L12B
Two Bll Bearing
DC 12V. 0.08A. 0.96W
I did a search on the part number and found slightly different info at the Evercool.com.tw site:
Pressure MMH2O: 1.42
Noise dBA: <23
Anyone have any experience with this particular fan? I'm replacing a noisey fan in an older 250W powersupply and don't want to wait or go through the trouble of ordering a Panaflo.
Thanks in advance.
Is this a good, quiet fan - Evercool EC8025L12B

I've installed the fan in question in my power supply. It is quieter than the old fan. But, the old fan was dying and made horrible noises when warming up.
This is my first fan replacement/noise abatement effort. So there is nothing I can compare it to.
Somebody is selling the Panaflos for about $3-4 each. I paid $10 for this fan at a store. Also noticed recently that one of the fans that I pulled from my case was the same brand (Evercool) and a similar model number. So this may be just another el-cheapo fan.
