A 92mm fan vs 2 80mm fans at lower voltage

Post by Dru » Thu Feb 06, 2003 5:27 pm

This decision will direct what type of case I purchase for my upcoming system I plan to build.

The fans would be rear exhaust fans. I was wondering how the sound from a single 92mm fan at either 5V or 7V would compare with 2 80mm fans running at 5V or 7V. The fans would be Panaflos L1As.

Thanks for any info.

You would probably get more air from 2 80s than 1 90.

You will definetley get better performance from 2x80s rather than 1x92. For example, with L1a's:

80mm = 21dB - 24CFM
92mm = 27dB - 43CFM

2x80mm = 24dB - 48CFM - much better stats than 1x92mm
