Zalman zm-f2 fan

Post by betty » Thu May 01, 2003 5:47 pm

Hello,

Does anyone know how much a zalman zm-f2 92mm fan can be undervolted? I already have it connected to a 5.6ohm resistor. It is fairly audible still.. I'm thinking about connecting the resistor still to a zalman fanmate.. Will I be able to go even lower?

Thanks!

Digitalix,

Sorry.. I meant 56ohms. That's what I already have there.. but I'm not sure how to do the calculation of what my fan is running at now. It is a 12v fan, and I have a 56ohm connector. It is now running at 1600 rpm. I'm thinking of purchasing a zalman fanmate to add to the 56ohm connector and seeing how low I can go.. would it be worth it?

Thanks!

The fanmate by itself can turn that fan to very low speeds (~1300rpm), but if you need more you can always try them both... just make sure it can spin up from whatever voltage you set it to.
