Which fan controller for FT02

Post by cbloss » Sun Dec 04, 2011 5:15 pm

I'm trying to find a fan controller that is perfect for my FT02 build. I have six fans total...case: 3x 180mm & 1x 120mm top fan, Silver Arrow CPU Cooler, 2x 140mm fans. I hate bright LEDs.

Currently I'm considering:
NZXT Sentry-2(Can it control all 6 fans and the 180mm ones?): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811992005
ZALMAN MFC1 Plus-B(I'd break out the LEDs): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811999171
Lamptron FC Touch(not sure if it goes completely black??): http://www.frozencpu.com/products/12285 ... _ITEM.html

I really like the Scythe Kaze Master Pro (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811998077) but I don't think I can turn the display off.

Any other suggestions?

I own and used for over a year the Scythe Kaze Master Pro 5.25" 6 Channel Fan Controller / Temp Display - Black (KM03-BK) worked really well with 6x gentle tyhpoons 1850rpm. If you dont like the screen you could go with Scythe Kaze Q-12 5.25" Bay 12 Channel Fan Controller - Black (KQ02-BK).

You may want to stay away from touch controllers, since controlling via knobs is much easier, especially if you have your pc on the side. I would strongly advice Lamptron FC5 v2. Got myself one and am very happy with it. It has 4 channels, but each one supports ~30 watts (it is like 10 fans?) and visually fits FT02 just perfectly. Just get yourself some fan cable splitters (Phobya has awesome ones) and put 180mm fans on one knob, CPU fans on the other one and you will even have one more spare.

Scythe controllers are fine, but display might be hard to read when looking not straight at it, while Lamptron has nearly 170 degree viewing angle (no joke).
