Faulty AP181

Post by Oubadah » Tue Jul 31, 2012 5:03 pm

Just received a TJ08-E - first thing I did was power up the fan, which sounds like this:

(that's low speed->high speed->low speed)

I've had the case before, but it was minus the fan. This is my first AP181, so I thought I should check: that growl isn't normal, right? The fan sounds broken to me.

I got my TJ08-E and installed it yesterday and even thou the fan is loud even at low it didnt have that growl that your fan had.

Contact silverstone and say your fan is broken and have a growl. Ask them for a different version fan as well, if your lucky they will give you the non AP 180mm 700rpm fan.

Edit!
I have the same problem it seems. I only assumed your one was broken but now im starting to think it is just a bad fan. They probably focused on the Air Penetrator design and didn't do enough quality control on the motor.
