So can anyone recommend a quiet 140mm fan for this?

The potential problem you are faced with is that you need not just a quiet fan but a quiet horizontally mounted fan. What i have read is that only ball bearing fans should be mounted horizontally. When it comes to ball bearing fans the only good ones i know of a are the Scythe Gentle Typhoon 800rpm and they only come in 120mm but they are also extremely quiet.Cheetah wrote:I have a build which is in this case: http://resources.mini-box.com/online/EN ... ure-b2.jpg
Now the only fan is the one on the heatsink, the Scythe Kozuti. This fan is too loud for my liking so what I am going to do is get rid of that fan (but keep the heatsink) and mount a 140mm fan on top of the case blowing air out of the case.Code: Select all

I've been using fdb bearings mounted horizontally for years and never had any issues.AckeDman wrote:What i have read is that only ball bearing fans should be mounted horizontally.
