Silent coloring? :) :) :)

Post by 23-D » Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:05 pm

Hello to everyone.

This is my first post so here is a brief introduction.
About a year ago I incidentally started to build silent PC (mostly because of a newcomer in the family and my late night work).
Then I stumbled upon SPCR. WHOA, what a great site. And definitely the only worth following in the terms of SILENCE.
Since then THE SILENCE of my PC is the most important factor.
From now on I'll try to be active member of the community. From my sig you can see how much SPCR affected choice of the components :)

OK, now back on topic. Or should I say question.

Few days ago I ordered Thermalright TY150 for my Triton75 cooler.
But there is a slight problem. The colour is UGLY!!!!
And my whole rig is in B&W&Blue colours, so TY150 would be like poke in the eye.

So, my question would be....
Does it and how much the colouring of the fan affects on the fans noise signature?
Are there any types of colour that are better than others for this job?

The only color-related issue is that transparent plastic can "ring" more than solid/opaque plastic; and this can sometimes add a bit of noise. But color matching for visual affect is up to you...

For whatever reason your signature is nearly microscopic.

Welcome to SPCR.

My suggestion: Don't look inside the case :)
