Hi,
Just put together a build in the Silverstone Temjin TJ08-E and I have run into an unforeseen problem. The 180mm front case fan (Air Penetrator) is louder than I thought it would be even when switching the case fan controller to low. It's a 3-pin connector so I can't temperature control it either any further. What to do now?
Has anyone been able to silence this beast? If so, how?

You could try running it on a 5V adaptor or you could put a resistor inline. There has been quite a bit of feedback on the 180mm Silverstone fans to say they aren't all that quiet considering their RPM but this is mostly due to their large size.

That's the reason why I prefer the Precision PS07 over the Temjin TJ-08E. Though the thermal performance of the Precision PS07 is worse than the Temjin, it's quite hard to make the Temjin quiet enough for SPCR standards. Plus, I do believe that an exhaust fan in the Precision would greatly improve the thermal performance.

Grab a zalman fanmate2, i hace mine no low + fan mate, With this combo you can lower below 900rpm, mine is at 600rpm, where its decent, I could lower a little more, but I'm fine as it is.

I'll try a FanMate. Right now I have disconnected the fan altogether. Case 44 degrees, CPU 28 degrees in idle. Could be an alternative as well, I guess. Or perhaps add a 120mm exhaust fan instead. Thanks for all input.
