I have a Super Flower Leadex PSU which is an excellent unit let down by it's horrible cheap fan. My intention was always to replace the whole PSU, but it's proven impossible to find one that fits all my needs (high quality fan, semi-passive fan control that actually works properly, no coil whine and quality sockets/plugs that don't require excessive force to connect). The Leadex ticks all the boxes except for the fan, so the obvious solution is to replace the fan.
Unfortunately, finding an alternative fan with similar enough specs has proved difficult. The Leadex uses a RL4Z-S1402512HH fan with a starting voltage of 5v, max speed of 1800RPM and 135 CFM rating. It's 3 pin voltage controlled.
I always try to use Noctua fans because I've found that they have very good fans with the most consistent QC, but the only Noctua fan remotely close to that spec is the NF-A14 iPPC-2000 (2000RPM, 107CFM), but I had to exclude it for it's high starting voltage.
Can anyone recommend a good 140mm 3 pin voltage controlled fan with 5V starting voltage and specs as close to 1800RPM and 135 CFM as possible?

Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PK-3 140mm x 25mm Ultra Quiet Fan - 1700 RPM - 27 dBA $24.95
According to Noiseblocker website.... it has 4V starting voltage, but i personally havent tested it to know if its true.

Staring voltage looks fine:Abula wrote:Noiseblocker NB-BlackSilentPro PK-3 140mm x 25mm Ultra Quiet Fan - 1700 RPM - 27 dBA $24.95

I'd have to ship this model from overseas, and I'm usually reluctant to ship fans. They always end up being damaged.
Can anyone comment on the longevity of this model? How long do they stay quiet?

I can't speak for that 140mm fan, but my four BlackSilent Pro 120mm ones are all silent after about five years (they should share the bearing technology).
