has anyone used a zalman fan resistor on a graphics card fan? Do we know if the plugs are the same?
Thanks

I haven't, but I can tell you the fan plug would be different than that which is on a graphics card.
The Graphics card will have a two socket plug whereas the Zalman will have a three socket plug (for standard 3 prong fans).
Can it work? I'm sure you could MAKE it work, but it doesn't work out of the box without a little force.

Aren't video cards limited to 3.3v and 5v power unless they're using supplementary connectors? AFAIK, one of those zalman "quiet mode adaptors" would take out a lot of power from a 5v line(due to higher amperage being neccesary to compensate or something like that), though my 92mm zalman fan still starts when plugged into the 5v line with the resistor. The fan mate should be a bit more likely to work.
