The fan is a Papst, and I can't test it for the time being.

600-800? How's that? We don't know which Papst fan it is.

Matte: Find out the RPMs at 12V.. either from specs.. or plug it into the mobo and read RPMs with a program like MBM.. then multiply by 5/12.

RPMs usually scale linearly with voltage.

i.e. a Papst 8412NGML (2050rpm@12V) at 5V spins at about 850 RPM - I think that's one of the slowest 80mm Papsts.

Thanks DonP! I didn't know that you could calculate it that way...The fan happens to be a 8412NGML

Btw.. Maxamus - I didn;t mean to snap - sorry if it seemed rude.

Back to the issue at hand..

Matte, may I suggest you have a look at the article entitled "Choosing Fans for Quiet, High Airflow: A Scientific Approach" on SPCR - there are tables of fan data at various voltages - very useful me thinks :)
