How fast does an 80mm fan spin @ 5 volts?
The fan is a Papst, and I can't test it for the time being.
600-800? How's that? We don't know which Papst fan it is.
Matte: Find out the RPMs at 12V.. either from specs.. or plug it into the mobo and read RPMs with a program like MBM.. then multiply by 5/12.
RPMs usually scale linearly with voltage.
i.e. a Papst 8412NGML (2050rpm@12V) at 5V spins at about 850 RPM - I think that's one of the slowest 80mm Papsts.

Btw.. Maxamus - I didn;t mean to snap - sorry if it seemed rude.DonP wrote:600-800? How's that? We don't know which Papst fan it is.
Back to the issue at hand..
Matte, may I suggest you have a look at the article entitled "Choosing Fans for Quiet, High Airflow: A Scientific Approach" on SPCR - there are tables of fan data at various voltages - very useful me thinks
