Watercooled psu

I took the top off a PSU in my closet, and worked out 3 steps to make this happen.

1) seal the PSU with loads of silicone caulk, especially the cable area
2) fill the now sealed psu with the oil
3) mount a heatsink where the fan exhaust was

I pretty much lost interest at that point, i just don't think it'll work, at least not without a little bit of oil seeping through the cables.

yeah i gave up on watercooling PSU's for now, i got a 92mm fan and made a shroud/duct thing, the 92mm fan is out of the case sucking air through the 80mm slot, it moves a hell of a lot more air than the original 80 on 5v and its pretty quiet as well so that will do me for now

i'll probly have a go at watercooling a PSU sometime later on though

My plan is to mount a radiator in such a way that a 120mm fan can such air through it from outside the case (with a shroud) and then through the PSU. That way it will cool both. PSUs are designed to run with warm air anyway.

Or lian li PC-v1x00 case with quiet PSU. Direct airpath=cooler running PSU = lower fan speed = lower noise. I think this design will actually work decent with Passive PSU too if someone is willing to spend the $$$.
