Question to Antec case owners with front USB

Post by Dru » Sun Feb 23, 2003 8:41 am

I recently purchased an Antec SX835II which has 2 front USB and 1 IEEE 1394 (iLink, Firewire, whatever, etc).

I was reading the manual about connecting the USB wires to the motherboard. The Antec manual says only 8 wires need to be connected (it seems to say there should be ONLY 8 wires to connect). However, there are 9 wires as follows:

[1] +5V
[1] -D
[1] +D
[1] GROUND
[1] GROUND

[2] +5V
[2] -D
[2] +D
[2] GROUND

I don't see why there are 2 wires for ground for USB#1 above? The motherboard only has 1 ground connector per USB? Oh, it's an Asus A7N8X. Thanks for any info.

You do not need to connect the extra ground wire....
