How to Clean Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu Copper Plate Tarnished
I recently bought a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu to go with my Athlong 64 3200. I noted right before placing the Zalman on the CPU that it is very tarnished. This is probably from my fingers. Does anyone know what I can use to clean this surface? I started to use an everyday brass polish, but was afraid of a possible chemical reaction when combined with the T44 HeatSink Compound on the processor.
Tech Support Forum site at Zalman
I visited in a forum with tech support guy from Zalman today. He told me to use a brass polish and then remove the residue with Alcohol and soft cloth.
I with I had read your replies first, it would have been a whole lot cheaper.

All sorts o' food would work...
Coca Cola probably would work, too. It has been used as a rust remover -- it also has an acid...
Already fixed, Thanks Everyone.
I just ended up using some brass cleaner and then wiped everything off real well using some alcohol.
