Shuttle: future plans

Post by jojo4u » Mon Jul 19, 2004 2:55 pm

Planet3dnow.de did a open chat with the technical marketing director of Shuttle Germany.

Unfortunately I forgot the event but luckily another crazy silent-pc fanatic also active in the planet3dnow forums had the same questions as me.

onboard DVI: planned
Pentium 4M XPC: planned in near future
more XPC with external PSU: in development
fan sizes: 92mm: in future; 120mm: not planned
increasing of the number of 5,25" slots: not planned

About your questions:

Pentium M XPC are not planned yet.
There was no suggestion what the new external PSU will bring. The Athlon XP base won't see new innovetions, only evolution. They are focusising on P4 and A64.

In an Anandtech review of the Dothan Pentium M, they mention that Shuttle is planning a SFF Pentium M product to be released in late 2004. This will be a very popular product with SPCR folks I suspect. I know I'll be very interested in it! Guess we'll have to wait and see if it really will be available...
