Here's my idea for quieting the PC in my signature:

I have an SP-97, a Sparkle 350W with 120mm fan, Evercase 4252. My CPU is a Athlon XP-M 2600+ @ 9.5 x 200Mhz = 1900Mhz, vCore 1.35. My CPU consumes approximately 42W of electricity.

1. Remove PSU from case.
2. Cut hole in case for CPU duct.
3. Place a 92mm SilenX fan in the CPU duct.
4. Mount Panaflo 12L as back exhaust fan with EAR isolators.
5. Cover all holes with duct tape.
6. Possibly replace PSU fan with SilenX/Globe (Acoustifan) 120mm fan.
7. Possibly replace Panaflo 12L with 120mm SilenX/Globe fan.
8. I do not plan on overclocking more than I already have.

The things I want to know:

I've read that SilenX fans have a resistor that lowers the voltage. Are all of the same size of fan the same except for the resistance of the resistor?

I want to get as close to the CPU's thermal limit as possible. If diffirent speeds of SilenX fans are different fans, which SilenX fan should I get for my CPU, and which should I get for my PSU?

If I replace the PSU fan and CPU fan, will the Panaflo be the loudest fan in my system?

Making the hole in the side of the case requires cutting through the annoying, ugly mesh on the side of the case. I must cut through, not around the mesh. Will I have trouble doing this with tin snips?

Thanks
