Well the last time I remember Seagate announced that the Barracuda V would be released in August, and obviously it is now September. Whats up? I don't see any Cuda V's yet, any info on their release or more importantly on their general availability date??

I'd bet they've been shipping B-Vs to major OEM accs for a while. Retail will see them when the big acc demand slows. That seems to be the way it always works, especially for companies like Seagate who don't even retail package their drives. Perhaps they're waiting to release it complete with SATA.

I spoke to one of my distributors last week, and he told me that they won't be getting them for 3-4 more weeks. Of course when I talked to him in late july he said they would have them at the end of august, which obviously didn't happen.
