Chaintech VNF3-250 Zenith MB and thermalright xp-120 compat?

Post by megane » Sun Sep 26, 2004 5:03 pm

I was looking to make this upgrade, but I'm not entirely sure if it will fit properly on the motherboard. Also, I'm not sure if this fan will be just right :

120mm Panaflo fan M1A #2094

so if anyone has any comments on that too, please..

a picture of my motherboard -

Those capacitors right next to the cpu are what have me worried.

If the XP-120 won't fit, I might as well ask - what about the zalman 7000a?
and while I'm asking about that, can anyone tell me the differences between the 7000 and 7000a?

Any responses highly appreciated. Thanks.

Looking at Ralf's review of the XP-120 and Thermalright's recommendation a Panaflo M1A is overkill for this application. I'd go with one of the fans in that review.

Yeah, I figured I was missing something about that fan, and clearly I was. Thanks.

For anyone else with this board wondering if the xp-120 will fit:

It fits fine, without blocking any dimm slots or having to bend any capacitors or anything. Perfect.
