self-made heat sink ?

Post by SlowMo » Tue Aug 20, 2002 2:44 pm

Hi !
i think about building a heat sink on my own from the modell of the zalman, because i´ve got an "old" slot a cpu (athlon 800), and for this type there are no silenced coolers being sold.
any suggestions/ideas, experiences ?
thanx in advance
regards

Check the recommended lists -- the GW VOS32 & Alphatech 3125 / 7125 are still available, and strongly recommended. I use the former with a P3 slot1.

to be honest, i want to build one i see it as a kind of a challenge.
i´m skilled in things like that, and thin cupper is easy to handle, and not really expensive

Sure, why not especially if you find it fun and interesting. However if you want it to perform really well you better make it pretty big and preferably all copper or better yet all silver;).
