New System and Temperature Limits

Post by MikeZ » Wed Jan 05, 2005 7:56 am

Hey everyone -

Great site - I bought all of my parts for based on advice and articles here.

I just assembled a new computer for music recording:

P4 3.0 E 800FSB Prescott (I know, the hottest of the hot)
Asus P4P800 Deluxe MB
2 Seagate Barracude HD's
Seasonic SuperSilencer 350W PSU
Generic Video Card w/o fan

Zalman 7000 AlCu Heatsink with Fanmate 2
Panaflo 120mm Rear case fan, blowing outwards, on FanMate2 (noisier that I thought it would be)
Evercase 4252 (the one reccomended on the site).

Ran some tests using Motherboard Monitor and CPU Burn in.

With the fans on minimum I get temps of about 52C on the CPU and 32C in the case. Are these acceptable? I am going to more in depth testing, but can I be confident if temps remain at this level? The MBM sensor and the Bios sensor seem to be about 2-3C off from each other, is there a reason for this?

Also, Where can I find some good hard drive noise reducing shockmounts?

Thanks for all of the help, and again, great site -
Mike
