AOpen Pentium M SFF system

I saw this mentioned on SFFtech but couldn't get any good info. Anyway run some Google searches for AOpen EZ855 or EY855 and you'll see that this does exist, although nobody is saying much about it. On the AOpen FTP site there is a bios file and installation PDF for this system which shows that it does in fact run on a Pentium M. Here's the link for the PDF (slow download):

That is REALLY cool. I just built a Pentium M rig using the AOpen MB and Antec Aria case. It works VERY nicely. I was wonderingg when AOpen would marry their P-M board and their SFF line!

Found here in Sweden for 3437 SEK, here in Germany for 381,54 €

Looks like it got the P4 mounting bracket just like the AOpen µATX mobo.

Doesn't look like it. That's a bit odd since their own desktop board (855GMEM-LFS) has SATA, although with a Promise chip. I guess ICH4 doesn't natively support SATA.

Finaly, it looks like the European version will be the EY855, for 350€ (average street price).

Those specs look good to me. AGP 4x is no slower (or only a little bit slower) than 8x if i remember correctly. SATA isn't any faster than ATA (yet) and it's more expensive. The main advantage of SATA would be its nicer cables, but Aopen mostly takes care of the wiring for you so that's not a problem.

What I don't know is whether there will be any way to change power settings like on a laptop. I would love to be able to slow down the CPU when it's just serving up files, and speed it up again for gaming.

EDIT: I looked it up and 350 Euro is like $450 in US dollars. That's pretty insane, considering Pentium M CPUs don't come cheap either!

Nah, it's the dollar-euro rate which is insane
