When you've had it on for 8 hours minimum, can you tell me how hot is the PSU to touch? How hot is your case to touch? What are your ambient and inside case temperatures? Do you have any additional intake or out blowing fans?
I'm just curious to know if the SilenX PSU achieves it's extremely low dBA with a fan that hardly pushes any air at all, resulting in a really hot case.

Halcyon

Do you know what fan is being used with that power supply?it's really really really quiet...to the point it makes 5v panaflos irritating
I'm going to buy a case fan soon, but if the fan used with this particular power supply is actually quieter than a panaflo, then maybe I should just use that other fan instead.

Yeah, this would probably be the quiestest active cooling available with a SilenX PSU and all SilenX fans.methodman wrote:not really sure, just had a "SilenX" label on it. lemme email pete about it and get back to you on that *grin*
The only counter problem to this, is probably the noise of the Hard disk will become super loud! even decoupled, boxed, foamed etc.

How about a review on the quietest cold cathode tubes? Recommend the ones that have no hum, highest power efficiency to keep those PSUs cool, best sound reaction to pulse to the beat of Barry's White and Manilow, etc. Heck, even review the thickest clear perspex (or does Lexan absorb more sound?) for quiet windows, find a site that makes and sells thickly padded "computer cozies" to hide that unsightly beige box until you can get those perfect m0dz, etc.
There's gotta be a silentpcreview.com tie-in somehow! www.date.com popups for advertizing, and they would have a section in the profile for how big, er, quiet your PC is...
Give me 10% royalties, and the business is yours!

I've seen some pretty weird stuff. I was inventing links for dating sites and was almost afraid to type in www.findyourmate.com in case I got a mailorder bride site or something. It turned out that www.date.com was a real place, so I used that instead.
