)Anyway... here's what I did:
I found a big air-conditioner in the garbage. I took the case (chassis) of the AC and threw out the rest. Then I mounted the empty AC case outside my window. Then I moved the power supply, water pump, radiator, and, of course, radiator fans into the AC case.
I order to prevent rain water from mixing with the power supply and radiator fans, three layers of insulation were made (counting the AC case as 1 layer ; the other two - a plastic box and a plexiglass selfmade box inside the plasic box). Also, the power supply and water pump are in separate compartments in order to prevent a mess if the pump leeks.
With this setup I am watercooling the CPU and GPU. as for the hard drive - I use Barracuda IV - almost silent (well... I lied
). At first the drive was making strange noises imediatly after completing a read operation but after I emailed them, Seagate support sent me a small utility that you run once and it fixes the problem. In the future I plan to watercool the HD and so I can completely insulate any noise.In fact a bigger problem than the HD noise is the CRT buzz. LCD here I come...
