Unfortunately my NF7 board doesn't seem to like dynamically changing the FSB. It will drop just fine, but occasionally BSOD's while attempting to raise the FSB back up. Seems to be a fault particular to my motherboard; it did the same thing with an XP2100 CPU, yet many other people report good success with the program on their NF7's.

If you've got a motherboard on the compatibility list, I highly recommend trying the program out. It's very slick, and gets better with each revision.
I have an AOpen AK79D-400 Max board that could dynamically change it's FSB with SpeedFan with an 1700 T'bred 'A'. I then upgraded to a Barton 3000/200. It will now go down 1-100MHz on the FSB but locks when it tries to raise it, at all. I was hoping it would help keep the box cooler, but oh well.

FYI

Btw, have you enabled software cooling?

My Abit kx7333 raid, which undervolts, wont boot at all, even at 166mhz, 133mhz, 100mhz, anything I set, any setting, even just lowering the voltage a bit, wont boot with my xp2400+.
Thanks

A further update

Post by pod03 » Wed Nov 07, 2007 7:08 am

I replaced the graphics card with a Sapphire 9600XT ultimate (very similar current draw to the ASUS I detailed in March 2005) and replaced the Philips 2x2x6 CDRW with a Samsung SC-148T CD-Rom a year or so ago and recently replaced some other components. Here are some more figures – See clarification from Sthayashi in Jan 2005 post in this thread about my conversion of current figures (Amps) into energy figures (Watts).

All figures below are current drawn from socket:
- With no CD or DVDs in drives
- Fans off
- Screen switched off buy screensaver. Sapphire 9600XT ultimate at standard clock. 0.05A (Approx 12W) difference between the screen being off and on – Does anybody have any better suggestions for a AGP graphics card that has more performance than a Radeon 9000 – I tried a 9600Pro and there was not much difference between Pro and XT.
- CPU 300MHz - voltage 1.1v

Amps Modification
0.22 With Samsung CDR
0.20 Without Samsung CDR
0.18 With 2.5â€
