Wait -- a HyperTransport bus on an Intel chipset?

The fact that a nForce4 IE is better performing than Intel chipsets, even in non-SLI mode, shows again that technological progress can he held back by pure marketing decisions. I suppose that if nVidia wouldn't have developed SLI (which, BTW, isn't such a sophisticated technology, just passing of digital video data through the SLI connector and managing the workloads in the driver), Intel wouldn't have agreed to the bus licensing...

I don't know where that HyperTransport came from, but nVidia's own graphic doesn't say HyperTransport between the CPU and the SPP.

ilh, you are right: of course there is no HT between the CPU and the northbridge. That's the piece of hardware interconnect for which nVidia needed Intel's bus license.
