Aopen s760GXm-S: Mainboard for Turion?!?

Post by egghat » Fri Apr 08, 2005 7:19 am

German online magazin had the news) that this new Aopen board is expecially for the Turion.

Haven't seen it here in the forums. Anyone with more infos?

I found this while searching for a board, that supports the Low Power Athlon 64 CPU (these are not the DTR Mobile Athlons and run at 35 watt max., the Sempron will go even lower at 25 watt). btw. can I do this?

Bye egghat.

I don't think there's a reason to make a Turion mobo. Any mobo can work with them if the BIOS supports it:
Theoretisch läuft der Turion übrigens auf jedem Sockel 754-Board, dessen BIOS die CPU erkennt.
It's not the same situation as with the PM boards since PM got an unique socket.

thanks. No mention of Turion compatibilty, or did I scan to fast?

Tomshardware.de has a test as well. The article doesn't seem to be available on tomshardware.com. No mention of the Turion either.

Bye egghat.
