"Morally reprehensible" is a bit strong for such a minor transgression, but I do agree that the ends do not justify the means in this instance. Now, allowing your friends' computers to disturb the peace and quiet, that's another story... :)

I stumbled across a site once with instructions on how to Overclock your Delta Fans! Basically rewire them to get them to draw higher than 12 volts...so they'd spin faster than spec....and make more noise.

If ever there was a site that deserved a DoS attack, there's one.

Guerilla silencing, count me in!

I've used that very same pick-up line on chicks a million times, but it never works. :(

I noticed that a team can customize the look of their statsman page. Perhaps we could at least stick a logo up on there?

edit:
... I really need to be more observant before I post ...

What a difference a couple of weeks makes - looks like the beginning of June now.

i did check it out... it is pretty amazing. but there's something that gets me. he (MarkF) mentioned that, with gromacs, he generates 37 points/day/system (with athlon xp 2100+).

um... with my P4 2G... i churned out 69 points yesterday (my first time with gromacs... two 18pointer's and one 33pointer, all in less than 24 hours). am i missing out on something here? or is my P4 just special?

EDIT: i miscalculated, those 69 points were for 32 hours. i managed to get 51 points for 24 hours... which is still far better than the 37points MarkF reported for his 2100+
