2600+ palermo does not support cool n quiet

Post by kamosoft » Sun Apr 17, 2005 9:51 am

I bought one 2600+ 0.09
Is there a way to enable cool 'n quiet, like there was a way to make a mobile XP from destop?

If your motherboard supports CnQ, you should be able to enable or disable it in the BIOS.

The m/b has this option in bios (asrock sis760GX). The problem is that the new semprons just don't have cool 'n' quiet. There is an article about 2600+ on xbitlabs.com .... plus a post on amd.com forum...
I'm so upset ...

IIRC only the 3000+ Semprons have this. I don't know if there are any bridges you can connect to enable it...

...although you could make up for not having a low idle power draw by being at full load all the time. (sorry )

It's been discussed here as well, and the subject of your post is incorrect. The 2600+ and 2800+ are confirmed as not support CnQ, but this does not necessarily apply to the 3000+ and higher 90nm models.

I can't find where you have discussed it, can you advice me what sempron to get to be sure that it is 0.09 and support C'n'C?
