heavy case modding

Post by quix » Thu Apr 24, 2003 2:51 pm

heya!
been working on the case the last few days. like i wrote in the psu-modding article, i'll be doing some modding on the case, and here it is. the case-modding is finished. will be trying covering different holes, and look whats best for cooling the hd's.
only thing left is to put something inbetween the transformer of the psu and the heatsink on the back. cleaned it up, only one heatsink for the transformer and the coil.

check the photos:

Very nice DIY application of an L bracket for the hdd suspension. I wish the Antec cases had hdd access from the mobo side so I could do the same.

i knew you guys would like it to see my foot again

about the temperatures, it's staying around 45C (no case fans). the forth and the second are maxtor 120 gigs and both are +-1C after half an hour.

but, it's louder than before (well, not sure if windows turned off the other 3 hdd's) with insulatation and 5 volted fan... :? (pic1, pic2, pic3)

Hey, there's another foot. Sockless this time though. Are you going for the soft-core porn now?
