Enclosures and acoustic damping to help quiet them.

2 80mm intakes for great justice

Post by Politik » Wed Apr 30, 2003 4:31 am

Lian-Li and Coolermaster have 2 80mm intakes in their cases... my friend's lian-li is very quiet with this setup (aside from the 4 WD hds)

Are there any non-wallet-blasting cases with 2 80mm intakes?

Or, which cases have the best front-bezel design? With a more open front bezel, 2 rear exhausts and no intakes might not cause such a vacuum.

What do you donsider "non-wallet-blasting"?

The chieftec dragon case has two front intakes and two exhausts, all 80 mm. The same case is available under different brands (chieftec, thermaltake, antec.....). Some come with PSU, the thermaltake (which I got) comes with 4 case fans.

Less than $100 before a PSU. And I should've mentioned, I don't like doors on the front bezel :/

How about this one?

It's got a fan mount in front for 120mm and two 80mm mounts in the rear. You could put a 120mm and two 80mm panaflo L1As modded to 5V and still have plenty of airflow (after cutting out the fan grills).
It's high-gloss black with an acrylic face.

$39.99 without PSU

Or, even better. Here's one with space for SEVEN 80mm fans!
$41 will get you this case with space for 4 intake fans, 2 exhaust, one sidepanel! Talk about serious airflow!:D

Too bad the front looks like a cheezy iMac!

Well, blast me away! One problem might be though that if you have a badly designed bezel those 4 fans in front will not help the matters...

It looks like it's been modded to allow the PSU to be right-side-up?
I'm not sure though.
