24 pin s12-380 to 20 pin motherboard?

Post by justinreinke » Thu Jun 16, 2005 6:00 pm

How do I make this connection? I just bought a Seasonic s12-380 after reading several reviews on here. My motherboard has a 20 pin ATX power connector and the PSU has the 24 pin ATX v2. The instructions say nothing but the box claims it will work. Do I just cut off one retaining clamp that keeps it from plugging in all of the way from the connector and plug it in with the extra 4 connections not being used? I need help fast as I am already into this. Thanks, this site is great. I have got a lot of usefull info here and bought a few things to get my pc silent.

You should be able to just plug the 24pin into the 20 pin w/o any mods. There is only one way it will fit.
