Core_ca

Post by herosformula » Wed Apr 30, 2003 9:12 pm

I just picked up a WU that required a new core, Core_ca, and a 600 frame work unit, Unit 04. It is much more verbose than other cores and it appears to be actually attempting to design useful proteins. Neeto.

I don't know on #1 and yes on #2

Hello:

I think that the Genome@Home work unit vary in their speed, like the F@H. And yes, G@H WU's do count towards your/our F@H points! :)

kack, that was a big hairball. 30 hours of computation, no points so far.

I think I had 2 of those, 1 on each machine. 73 points worth :D

The downside: my second box just isn't getting all its results back. Currently on its 7th WU, units 3 & 5 were deleted, unit 6 still waiting in que (sic) to be reported. Its the 73 pointer, and I just can't get it uploaded.

fah3console -send all

results in

Microsoft Windows 98

arghh :(

Mine just got credited: in my case seems to have been a problem with their upload server. I had given up getting credit figuring I had a config problem, but seems their server came back up, my PC decided some kind of retry (in mid WU) and voila, +73 points!

alright... i'll wait it out. but the thing is... i've got nothing to upload, whatever leftover WUs i had, i'm sure the client shoved it straight up the server's... er, where the sun dont shine.

this was after the G@H WU:

Code: Select all

[16:55:25] Sending work to server
[16:55:25] + Attempting to send results
[16:55:25] - Reading file work/wuresults_07.dat from core
[16:55:25] (Read 215342 bytes from disk)
[16:55:59] + Results successfully sent
[16:55:59] Thank you for your contribution to Folding@home.
[16:55:59] + Number of Units Completed: 27
[16:56:03] Trying to send all finished work units
[16:56:03] + Sent 0 completed units to the server
after that completed, i took on a gromacs WU, and i completed it:

Code: Select all

[09:18:05] + Attempting to send results
[09:18:05] - Reading file work/wuresults_08.dat from core
[09:18:05] (Read 1069068 bytes from disk)
[09:25:12] + Results successfully sent
[09:25:12] Thank you for your contribution to Folding@home.
[09:25:12] + Number of Units Completed: 28
[09:25:16] Trying to send all finished work units
[09:25:16] + Sent 0 completed units to the server
stats show me as only 27 WU completed. (as of now), and it was 26 before this gromacs core. i think i've lost my G@H WU points *tear*

I have the same, the stats only reflect the folding@home work units and folding@home points. I will be dumping any future genome@home work units that come my way until they can fix the points problem.

so... the protein is Des2/pdb1qu9.21.spa :!: , and there was no expiry date. i smell something funny.

dukla2000, where did you see the 73points?

also.. the WU was downloaded from 171.64.122.107, which isn't listed here: http://folding.stanford.edu/psummaryC.html

or here: http://folding.stanford.edu/psummaryB.html

or here: http://folding.stanford.edu/psummary.html

i looked up only F@H servers because of this:
[04:05:13] - Connecting to assignment server
[04:05:15] - Successful: assigned to (171.64.122.107).
[04:05:15] + News From Folding@Home: Welcome to Folding@Home
somebody... HALP!!!!

EDIT: i remember electron microscope reporting it as 759. my memory's a bit flaky... but '9' is definitely the last digit.

That IP is assigned to a SUN-5 workstation in room 115 of Pine Hall. Anyone that goes to Stanford want to kick it a couple of times for Riff and I?

In Electron Microscope. (And then on my total). ps - looking at the logs my problem was different to yours: I couldn't send results for 18 hours. You did, but they got lost.

Mine was wierd: I took the PC down to play with the ducting - it was halfway through WU 7 (and WU 6 was my biggy) - see log below. And in italics at the bottom is when I was trying to force it 18 hours earlier!

then it would just do nothing - I cancelled out after 5 mins, maybe I should have waited 18 hours?

i always do a "-send all" after every WU completes, just to be sure.
