Here's my TT Tsunami. For those of you that do not know, the Tsunami is identical to the SLK3000B, just the exterior is diferent. So, on with the pics:

The rig is not very quiet atm, like always, there's stil work to be done. The hard drive is now suspended (it sits at the top 5.25 slot), which you cannot see on the pics. I have two Thermaltake fans@5V (around 950rpm each) and two GlacialTech Silentblade 120mm fans@5V also (they are at the top and side).

So far the noisiest component seems to be the PSU (which is a chieftec, BTW, it hasa very loud superred fan) and the hard disk (which is quite old). Comments?[/img]

I have that same case, and I'm sorry to be the one to tell you, but it is a pig to silence.

After acoutipack deluxe, HD suspension, replacing the fans with nexus'es and buying a quiet everything, it's tolerable.

The aluminium is extremely thin, so it will resonate very much. The rubber grommets didn't do it for me. The remarkable decrease in noise when I suspended my HD's speaks volumes about how much this case resonates. And this was after the acoustimat...

I absolutely agree on the grommets not making a difference. Also I never wanted to put damping into the case (i got the plexi version). The only things i can hear now are the HDD (as i said it's old, about 4 yrs or so) and the Chieftec, which isn't exactly known to be silent. I'm planning on switching the psu fan with a Glacialtech fan (the quietest i can find).

I also have to say that cutting the grills made a huge difference, in noise and airflow alike.

That was the first thing I did after getting mine, cutting the honeycomb grids off. They should just come with real holes and real grills. I'm sick of cutting them off every case.

I also see you replaced the inconveniently located usb ports with a blowhole. I considered that but realized I don't need it.

I'm not sure if there's a resonance problem though. My old case was much flimsier than this thing. When I had a cd in the drive the back side howled from vibrations. The cds are quieter here, but my hard drive chatter is much louder. It seems to echo rather than vibrate.

I really dont know why do they make those honeycomb (or whatever) grills on cases. Why don't they just make some nice round holes, even with no grills at all?

As for the blowhole... Well I don't really need it either :D . But i think it definitely adds to the "cool" factor :). Plus the usb ports ware pretty ugly, and I didn't use them too much, so...

Well most of the components are better (newer) than mine, your cables are nicely out of the way. Only real suggestion would be to cut out the crappy hole punched fan "grill" and use a real wire one.

Possibly ditch the screwless pci slot thing. I hated that thing. Always bent the brackets on my cards.

And wrapping the wires with black heat shrink tubing and getting black sata cables would make it all look cooler, but wouldn't really add any usefulness.

EMI certification. No grills means no CE stamp and no FCC class B compliance. Also, cases can get quite flimsy with no grill at all, not to mention the fact that your cat will thank you for keeping them.

Those grills, even though being wire grills, look kind of restrictive. Don't you think the rings are a little too close together?

I bought mine a month ago, and i am a little disappointed, i wish i saw the Antec P180 when i was shopping, but at least it looks good.

Has anyone succeded in making this case quite? I am replaceing the fan on the Asus A8N SLI(not premium) to a passiv cooler, CPU AMD BOX to Sonic Tower (The cooling should not be a problem, i think), i am also thinking of case dampining mats (BeQuiet).
What if i wrapped the hard disk cage on 4 sides(top&bottom+2 sides) whit some kind of isolation material, whould that be a good idea?

Sorry about my english.
