Changing the subject a bit...

Post by NeilBlanchard » Sun May 18, 2003 5:22 am

Hello:

I was looking at the SETI@Home teams (because I started a SETI team and I am trying to stay active in it!), and I noticed a certain team at number 10!!

Top 200 SETI@Home teams

My team isn't even ranked... DBUG Worldwide

So, I'll say it again: we need all our members to be active, and we need more members, if we are going to stay ahead of "The Knights Who Say 'Ni!'"

60!

Post by NeilBlanchard » Fri May 23, 2003 5:15 am

We've folded our way up to 60!!! :D :) :o   :P

And 'The Knights Who Say "Ni"!' are still going to pass us in about 2 weeks -- so let's fold even faster!

Alas, they've bought the farm. If SPCR could convince someone to gen up a 128 CPU rig, we could adequately compete with MilleniumKnight and the rest of Ni!

Or, that someone could just give them all to me and I'll take care of a quiet farm.

I added 10 more 24/7 1GHz machines to the cause. They should check in their first WU's sometime today.

Looks like my demise of June 6 will be moving forward in the schedule :)

Nice job. I can only steal 5 PC's from work.

Nice one. A very silent apprentice I notice.

The thing I like about SPCR team is we have our heros, except nothing is forever. When I started Rusty was still ahead of Mike. Now TRC is unstoppable. But also when I started Mike & Rusty each had over 16% of the team total to their credit, now us minnows have nearly got that under 10%. Also when I started 3000 points would have got me in the SPCR top 10, now I need 5000, and at the rate these damn ankle biters are climbing the table I figure even if I make the top 10 I will not survive long.

I feel an urge to upgrade something

Just remember that without the "minnows", us "farmers" couldn't get this team to where it is today.

What's stopping you Chris?
I have several rigs that would benefit from an upgrade
Even my main rig could stand an upgrade!

Just PM me for the details; or is it I can just send you the bill?
An even better idea: Just send me your credit card!

EDIT:
When I'm done with the card, I'll pass it on to the one in line.
Really, I promise.

Han.

mmmMMMMmmmmmm....Ankle biting.

Yeah, sometimes I get an inferiority complex (I joined like the first day there was an SPCR and I'm a solid 39 who will never break the top 20) but then I just think about us collectively and that makes me happier. Think of me as the water-bottle guy or the guy that hands towels to the superstar basketball players when they take a break. I am VERY IMPORTANT!

But seriously, it sucks being slow, but I'd be damn angry if anyone of you top guys let off the gas even a little. So keep up the good work!

Well OK, now you've promised :D But just to 1 other, right. Just keep checking your mail :?:
[edit] Just remembered you are not on our team, so cancelled that mail. Sorry  [/edit]

Wow! Very cool TRC-13! 8)

You know we're starting to at least hold the Ni team at the same rate of gain over us. A few days ago, they were scheduled to overtake us on June 7; today, they are still scheduled to overtake us on June 7. 2 weeks ago, the overtake date was jumping a day or two (or more) every single day! Acceleration in our rate of growth has been the difference.

So TRC-13, Jen & whoever else has prospects: keep it up! Maybe we can hold them off to mid summer?! (Or at least until we reach 45 :?:  )

Dont' count on it. Now that's school's done my main machine has gone back to folding. The farm may be gone, but I'm keeping a machine or two around to tinker with, and they'll be folding too.

I may not be able to get back into #1, but I'll be sure to stay in the top 5.

Yeah, that's what I said about staying in the top 10... then the top 15... then the top 20...

This team scares me sometimes. :)

DaShive- scares me too. There are some downsides to folding with a whole bunch of obsessive compulsive people....

Not sure if anybody noticed, but we have already passed yet another milestone.. we're in the top-24 of most producing teams (based on week totals), and our production keeps increasing at the same pace.

I wonder what happened to our performance yesterday? Maybe a server was down?

Stanford has moved the webservers to a new url. I think some servers needed to be shut down temporarily for that so the statssites like extremeoverclocking couldn't get any data. You can see it well in the top graph here. All teams going down to zero then a peak to twice their normal level.

Can't help noticing that in http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/ we're actually ahead of the knights in production over the past 24 hrs -- wonder if this is also a result of the webserver move.

'Milestones' thread

Post by dukla2000 » Fri Jun 06, 2003 8:57 am

Not sure if it is worth having a milestones thread?

But congrats to miker for breaking 20k (and in particular stepping up the production to make sure he beat TRC to it!!

Also the team passed 200k points last night :D : there has been quite an acceleration since we passed 100k!
