At least I (and the half dozen people online that I copied the idea from) were smart enough to use Mineral Oil, instead of vegetable oil which will be a cloudy, stinking, rancid mess after a month of running at 40°C temps.
Why is that, out of curiosity? Does the vegetable oil undergo saponification (hydrolysis of the esters in vegetable oil)? Where does the alkaline substance come from in the case of the submerged PC?
From THG's "Overclocking To 5GHz Using Liquid Nitrogen" (!!!) article:
At full load, taking into account a maximum CPU heat dissipation of just under 175 watts,
175 watts!!!!! Some people's whole computers don't use that much under load (including mine)!
