What are some of the 92mm fan tower heatsinks that face the rear on K8 platforms? Scythe Katana and Arctic Cooling 64 Pro come to my mind, but none of these are as good as the Noctua.kojak71 wrote:It's just a shame that orientation is limited on the S478 & K8 platforms
Noctua / Coolink Tower Heatsinks
To the Coolink X9 fan
"The X9-1100 deserves special mention for being very, very quiet, even at the stock voltage. No other 92mm fans that we know of can boast such a low noise level at 12V: 20 dBA@1m is very unusual. For this reason, it deserves a recommendation as a fan that can be used in a quiet system without requiring modification. In fact, undervolting this fan is a bad idea; the improvement in noise level does not justify the loss of airflow."
I have just bought one of these for my P150 to cool the HDD. This fan is a little dissappointing, because it has a clearly hearable vibration (motor)-noise, even az 8V (780RPM), and it just only gets louder, when useed at the default 12V.
I think I will have to buy the 92mm Nexus fan, I hope, that will be better.
Just it is twice as expensive.
BR!

How about the Yate Loon 92mm? It is cheap and, if it is as good as the 120mm and 80mm, equal to the Nexus in performance:I think I will have to buy the 92mm Nexus fan, I hope, that will be better.

If anybody bought one of the Noctua coolers:
You can get an AM2 bracket for free.
So if you are planning an upgrade in the near future, then you can keep the cooler.
