One thing that has struck me abour SPCR is the relatively high proportion of non-USA folk around, hence the poll for my curiousity. The main aim of the classifications is to pick out the USA, then by geographic continent. The sub-classification thereafter (itemise UK etc) is probably my biased view of the world showing and is not meant to offend. I guess any island like St Kitts & Iceland are 'Other' so please send in those tickets!

Well my parents are from Denmark, I was born in California (the left coast!) and I currently reside in Iceland. My wife is from England and my two daughters have three birth certificates each (US, UK, Iceland)

Can anyone top that?

Thats the bit that remains when everything east of the San Andreas fault slides into the Atlantic :?: Probably should have had a separate category for California!

Well - I collect birth certificates but that is for all my ancestors: my children only have 1. They do have a couple of passports and citizenship of 3 countries if necessary. I can however claim that my grandparents were born in 3 different countries (arguably 4 as the folk in Yorkshire figure they are different to England :) ), and my children can claim their grandparents were born in 3 different countries (again arguably 4 as the folk in Bavaria think they are different to Germany :) )

Dunno if I can top it, but...

My two parents come from the Philippines.
I was born in Vienna, Austria.
I'm now a US citizen, naturalized in 1997, living in Long Island, NY.

I live in the outer suburbs, North of the city on the Jersey side of the river. But not far enough away to avoid the 0.25% Subway Sales Tax. :x

Born in Brooklyn, grew up on Long Island, fled North. :)

I would almost say it's typically british to seperate europe into "the UK" and "the rest". UK is europe, when are you guys gonna accept it! :)

Now if you would have put down France and the rest.. I wouldn't have minded. ;)

That's why I tried to be non-British and split UK/EC/other. (Actually mainly because I thought there was a large UK contingent here and I didn't want that to mask the other Europeans. However as above, they either voted Canada or more likely in complacency didn't vote :( )

Now be reasonable :D How about if we metricate properly (the laws date back over 100 years and the road signs are all still miles, .... ). I figure, based on the commitment to a referendum, we are likely to adopt the Euro right after we metricate, and pigs land at Heathrow

A true Brit would never discuss personal issues like revealing his nationality until he had been formally introduced. I don´t know how you do that with a web forum.

Anyway I´m a Brit, but I ticked South America (where I am now)

It seems that I am the only member here !!

Hi Dukla :D

I grew up in Colorado USA worked and lived in Wyoming for a while then moved back to Colo. I have been to only 16 states in the US and to Mexico twice and once about 50 miles from Canada. No I never never ski nor have I ever met John Denver. Too many people I know have been really really screwed up from getting in to ski wrecks.

I have an old steel case 8088 original IBM computer and a new/used 1.7 2100 XP Athlon. I mainly bug you kind people here and at polycount and do light game art with paint shop pro and game only in Quake3.
I also use my pc to track all my home and auto repairs. I do not consider myself a nerd but I am pretty much a loner and really like how nice you folks all are here. :D

I voted UK, seeing that I'm an Englishman living in England... I see we're the 4th largest group - but since the EC is many countries it doesn't feel so bad...

Yeah, it seems like all the quiet products are in the US and Germany. I know people from Australia have difficulty, what kindof selection do you have in Malaysia?

Actually, Korea, China, and Japan make a bunch of stuff; is it available in Malaysia?

I think from Malaysia it is possible to travel to Singapore. And then, in Singapore, they have as much of the electronics as in Japan itself.

There's a Month Python episode where they're trying to come up with insluting terms for the Belgians, and one that absolutely makes me howl is "The Sprouts". That's just too funny.

Hope you guys take that in good fun. I love Europe, cheer for the Dutch in Football, and drink as much Belgian beer as I can get my hands on (although that's tough here in Western Canada :() I do plan to reverse-immigrate as soon as I can get some real education.

Wherever you get people manically fixating on one thing and one
thing only, you get a lot of americans there. Be it cars, guns, religion
or quieting computers, the american is usually the most fanatic :)
Sorry, that was not meant to be a troll, but that's at least how it
seems :)

I'm from Finland, which is NOT a part of the Soviet Union, like so
many people still tend to believe :) Nor is Finland the capital of
Sweden.

My father lives in Bracknell, UK and his wife is originally from the Phi-
lippines. I myself live next to Helsinki and work in private security. My
mother and father are both original Finlanders.`

Yep, it's called "obsessing." It's an excellent technique to avoid dealing with what's important. :)

Courtesy Microsoft Encarta: "Troll, in Scandinavian mythology, a powerful giant that was an enemy of humans. Trolls lived in caves or in castles on hilltops, robbing and eating..." I've never heard of the word "troll" being used in any other way. :)

And, why does seemingly everyone from Finland have a last name ending with "nen?"

My favorite joke about Americans is the question "What's the capital of Europe?" With the usual answer being London, Germany, Paris or England.
