good video card cooler?

Post by sdat1333 » Thu Apr 06, 2006 11:17 am

I have an evga 7800GTX, and I would like to know which cooler is best for it? I like to overclock and get good game performance. I might even be voltmodding this card in a month or two. So I need good cooling that can be quiet too.

I've started a poll.

Thanks!
Sean

V-1 Ultra, hands down. i cant believe its not one of the choices

my second pick would be the zalman ZM-80D.

i dont like heatsinks that come with a fan i cant easily swap out. with the v-1 ultra it moves all the heat to the backside of the card so that its easier to duct the heat away in the CPU region. the ZM-80D is probably the biggest and most effective passive heatsink. point a fan of your choice in its direction and it will handle almost any video card in production today.

i just went and did some reading on both of those
it doesnt look like either one will keep my 7800GTX cool under load
whereas the VF900 looks like it can keep almost any card cool
